MORE THAN 60 ARRESTED IN B.C. DRUG STING
A four-month undercover drug sting in the B.C. Peace has ended in
the arrest of 63 suspected drug dealers.
Mounties said the operation began in February, and involved a team of 10
officers from the Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Fort Nelson,
Chetwynd, Prince George and Vancouver detachments.
A large quantity of cocaine, crack cocaine, crystal meth, ecstasy and
high-grade marijuana was seized. One marijuana grow-operation was
shut down and an unreleased amount of money and firearms seized.
A total of 91 charges will be laid.
Eighteen people in Dawson Creek, 17 in Fort Nelson, 17 in Fort St.
John, seven in Chetwynd, two in Hudson Hope and two in Tumbler Ridge are
facing drug trafficking charges.
Individuals from Fort Nelson are also facing firearms offences.
Drug cultivation charges were laid against individuals from Hudson Hope.
No names have been released, pending charges being formally laid.
